This past week I recieved the Baker’s Creek Seed catalog via snail mail. And as I’m reclining in my computer chair – getting that warm fuzzy feeling from my nutty Irish “coffee” – I’m staring at the cover of it and telling myself that I have to wait just one more week until I open it since I try not to begin planning the garden until after the new year. One more week…just one more week…
But I’m not sure I’m going to make it. I’ve already been contemplating about what seeds to plant this past month as I watch grocery prices rise and rise in an economy that was supposedly getting better. And I’ve resisted grabbing a piece of graphing paper to map out the garden and I tell myself again…one more week….just ONE more week.
But I’m pretty certain I’m not going to make it one more week. For instance, my coffee is now gone. And everyone is watching a movie. So it is all quiet up here in the loft and visions of sugarbeets are dancing in my head…
Nope…not going to make it.
